Little Mountain Soap Company and Open Eye Press!

Ruth Kondylas and her daughter Rachael have been involved in crafting for many years and have a great following! Ruth has been a small business owner for 13 years, and offers handmade herbal and floral soaps, natural body care goods, and a small line of soy candles.

Rachael Kondylas is owner of Open Eye Press, a small screen printing and handmade crafts operation run out of Baltimore, MD. Rachael finds inspiration in simple design, and old school graphics. Her processes involve little or no harmful chemicals or solvents (with the exception of letterpress), and she always try to incorporate as many eco-friendly materials as possible. Everything is 100% handmade!

Craft Fair December 18, 2010

Join the TC Williams advanced engineering classes on December 18th in the TC cafeteria!!  They will be hosting a craft fair to raise money for Joining Hearts and Hands, an organization that promotes educational, health, and economic well fare for the people of Kenya and Tanzania.  This organization, founded by William and Joanne Cala, has raised money to build schools, health clinics water wells, and latrines in these countries.  They have also provided secondary school scholarships for students and created micro-businesses to promote self-sustainability.

On Saturday December 18th, TC Williams will be host to 40 crafters from around the DC area as well as several of the Career and Technical Education classes, which will be raising money for their programs as well!!

For their long term quarter project, advanced engineering students will be designing a sustainable community for a developing country.  Raising money for Joining Hearts and Hands will help students see the benefits of studying engineering and helping those in need around the world!

We look forward to seeing you all there! Email Jen Moshier (Jennifer.Moshier@acps.k12.va.us) for more information!
